We left Derek and Jennie's at 11:00 AM and tried to say hi to people at Telus but everyone was on vacation. We took the Horseshoe Bay to Departure Bay for 90 minutes. We arrived at 12:20 PM and thankfully because we were on a bike were able to skip the line even though the ferry was full for cars. We got through the line immediately and then loaded 5 minutes later at the front of the line with all the bikes.
We got off the ferry and met Colin's mom at Thrity's and then went to Rudy's for lunch. We stopped by the house to visit Brian and then we went to the ocean view B'Sheret Guest House.
I could stare at the ocean ripples forever. A cruise ship passes in the distance past the large island and then past the tiny island. It's stark white against the black mountains and navy glassy ocean. It disappears into the gray horizon. The rainy looking clouds are hanging around, but it's still warm and beautiful. The window view from the bed and couch is a post card, except for the ocean's lullaby and the wave movenment you'd swear you were staring at a post card.
We took pictures of the beautiful guest house and sat outside to listen to the birds and the ocean. We drank complimentary red wine and ate decadent chocolates while we flipped through a National Geographic coffee table book. Susan came over for a hot tub and we viewed a sunset of pink clouds from behind the storm. We had a great visit and great time looking up at the stars.
We're about to take Susan and Brian out for dinner (we are here using their Internet). Tomorrow we are off to Seattle. You probably won't here form us again until we're home.
